Accountant (Law Firm setting)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Accountant to join our team. This position is with an award-winning law firm based out of Los Angeles. The candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role is crucial for supporting the financial health of the firm and delivering accurate information to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Perform tax preparation and compliance tasks
- Conduct audits and ensure adherence to financial regulations
- Oversee payroll processing and reporting
- Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting
- Provide financial analysis to support business decisions
- Manage client billing and collections
- Utilize accounting software for efficient record-keeping
- Maintain accurate records in the general ledger
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a law firm
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and compliance
- Experience with tax preparation and auditing
- Familiarity with accounts payable and receivable processes
- Understanding of payroll systems and budgeting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
- Knowledge of legal terminology and client billing practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
