We are currently looking for an experienced Estimator to join our preconstruction team in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction estimating, with a focus on preparing competitive bids and cost estimates while working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients. Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Award Management:

• Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify optimal construction methods for competitive bid preparation.
• Perform quantity take-offs using PlanSwift, Destini, or similar estimating software.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor/vendor proposals.
• Organize and lead pre-bid meetings and site walkthroughs with subcontractors.
• Assess and select subcontractor/vendor proposals for inclusion in final bid submissions.

Planning and Coordination:

• Develop and execute bid strategies for different project delivery methods, including Lump Sum, Construction Management, and Design Build.
• Prepare cost estimates and proposals based on varying levels of design documents, including Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction/Permit Documents.
• Implement Constructability reviews and Value Engineering strategies to ensure projects stay within budget while achieving client goals.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, design consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve preconstruction issues and ensure smooth project execution.

Pre-Bid and Meeting Coordination:

• Lead presentations to owners and architects, ensuring alignment on project expectations.
• Organize and facilitate pre-bid meetings and subcontractor walkthroughs.
• Conduct meetings with project stakeholders to define points of contact, bid processes, and timelines.
• Facilitate a smooth handoff from Preconstruction to Operations, ensuring all project details are communicated effectively to the project management team.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Understand and contribute to the achievement of the company's five-year strategic goals.
• Adhere to the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on commercial and/or healthcare projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Hard Bid, Construction Management, and Design Build project types.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and estimating software such as PlanSwift or Destini.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to develop and present cost-effective bid strategies and accurate estimates.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and address potential preconstruction challenges.
• Experience managing budgets and analyzing financial data to create competitive proposals.
• Commitment to upholding high standards of quality, safety, and ethics throughout the preconstruction process.
