Position Overview: The Grading Project Superintendent is responsible for managing the completion of all grading, utility, road, site preparation, excavation, lot remediation, stormwater, and retention pond projects. This position is responsible for managing the big picture of a project, ensuring that deadlines are met and that the quality of the work meets all standards and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the progress of heavy civil projects from start to finish
- Oversee all aspects of the project, from scheduling and budgeting, to ensuring that safety guidelines are followed.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and other personnel assigned to the project.
- Monitor and track progress of the project, ensuring that all deadlines and milestones are met.
- Supervise personnel on the project, providing guidance, instruction, and training as needed.
- Ensure that the highest quality of work is produced, meeting all safety and quality standards.
- Maintain communication with project stakeholders, ensuring that they are kept informed of the projects progress.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise throughout the project.
- Document and report any accidents, incidents, or near misses related to the project.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience managing grading/excavation projects
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to the civil engineering field.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other construction documents.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate with experience in MS Office suite.
