We are currently in search of a Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor who will be responsible for coaching, training, and directing the workflow for the Underwriting Department.

**** This position is remote; however, YOU MUST reside in one of the following states where we currently operate and be within 90 miles from either a branch office or HQ.

These states include Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, South Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Florida, Delaware, West Virginia and New Jersey.****

What You Will Be Doing

Serves as the direct supervisor to Underwriters within the department

Assists Underwriters with daily tasks and questions concerning specific loan applications and loan programs

Performs employee reviews, sets goals and performance objectives for each direct report

Responsible for training the Underwriters

Assists branches with underwriting questions, scenarios and problems specific to the loan files assigned

Makes suggestions to the sales team on how to structure or restructure loans and provides suggestions on what can be obtained to satisfy outstanding conditions of the loan approval

Limited job related travel may be required

What You Need for this Position

At least 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience

Supervisory experience

Experience reviewing Conventional Loans

Has obtained FHA DE (Direct Endorsed) Underwriting authority

Has VA credit underwriting and VA LAPP authority

Bachelor's degree not required, but preferred
